Past Retreats
Sometimes great sorrow drives us into silence. But even in that silence we may find ourselves wanting to find words that can carry the weight of grief. Marilyn will guide us through simple practices to help sustain us as we grieve either personal or widely shared losses and lead us into places of hope.

God speaks to us in the great silence of the heart (Augustine). We need only listen—easier said than done. Step away and receive the gift of silence enhanced by the gift of music. Composer and Worship Arts Director, Micah Behr, is creating new music for the day. I’ll assist in guiding sessions of group and individual silence. You’ll have time to enjoy an outdoor walk or a cozy indoor corner. Our retreat will end with conversation around a specially prepared dinner.

When it comes to practicing gratitude most of us struggle. We love the concept but actually doing it is another story. In this season of Thanksgiving consider taking a day to pause and reflect on what is good in your life and where you are grateful. Perhaps you’ve hit a rough patch and need the encouragement to even go there. Writing exercises, quiet spaces and listening to our stories will guide the day.

Cost: $35.00

What do you want to remember from this last year? What stories will you tell of living through a pandemic? As life returns to something closer to normal, we invite you to take time with others to reflect: What has changed in your life?
What have you lost?
What have you gained?
Where have you experienced grace?
Join us as we reflect on this past year-and-a-half and respond to prompts to help us remember and record our experience of life in a pandemic.

A Lenten Day of Prayer is an invitation to explore the mystery of Lent—the Paschal mystery—always at work in our world and in our lives. The passion, death, resurrection, and ascension of Christ calls us to encounter God in our own experience. Where am I experiencing the process of suffering, dying and rising in my own life? How am I responding? We will share in liturgies of morning and afternoon prayer and spend several hours in personal silence. Spiritual Direction will be available. Music by Micah Behr.
